The Honey
Single source Ontario wildflower honey. Grade 1, golden, raw and unpasteurised, never heated beyond its natural state. One source, one season, never blended.
The Jars
Two 600 g jars, 1,200 g in total. One to open now and one to keep back.
The Dipper
Turned wood, grooved to hold the honey rather than let it run. It ends the sticky ring on the counter.
The Balm
Beeswax, and the same honey that is in the jars. Small enough to live in a coat pocket all winter.
The Box
Printed, our name on one side and Essence Delivered on the other. It travels as it is, so there is no outer carton to break down and nothing to wrap.
The Tote
Woven cotton, carrying our mark and a line we like. It is the part you hand over, and it will still be carrying groceries long after both jars are gone.
The Wrap and Ribbon
Each jar is wrapped in honeycomb and tied by hand. Nothing on it was tied by a machine.

What arrives
It opens in three layers.
Nothing is loose in a carton. Each layer is there to be taken off in front of somebody.
The box
Printed with our name on one side and Essence Delivered on the other. The shipping label goes on the outside and the box goes straight to the table.
The tote
Inside, a woven cotton tote carrying our mark and a line we like. It is the part you hand over, and it outlives the honey by years.
The jars
Inside the tote, two 600 g jars wrapped in honeycomb and tied by hand, with the invoice sealed under a gold sticker.
The handover
It gets opened in front of everyone.
Most gifts are opened later, alone, and thanked for by text. This one is opened at the table, because the ribbon asks to be pulled.

We fill, finish and pack every box ourselves, in small batches. When a batch is gone we wait for the next one rather than reaching for a second source.

A closer look
Honey has an origin, the same way wine does.
Raw honey is not one flavour. It carries the field it came from and the weeks it was made in, which is why a single source jar tastes like somewhere and a blended one tastes like nowhere.
Ours is Ontario wildflower, taken from one season, and it will taste different next season. That is the point of it.

Never heated beyond its natural state, so the texture and the aroma stay as they are.

Eventually, and that is the sign it is real. Stand the jar in warm water and it comes back.
