Our Heritage
Hey Honey Farms: a farming legacy since 1980
A family legacy
Since 1980 our family has worked the land in Ontario. Hey Honey Farms grew out of that, and it is still run by the same family. The legacy is not one of volume. It is the habit of choosing carefully and then leaving a good thing alone.
We select a single source of Ontario wildflower honey, one season at a time, and we never blend it. Every jar in a batch comes from that one source, so what is in the jar is one field and one summer rather than an average of many.
Single source, one season
Raw honey is not one flavour. It carries the field it came from and the weeks it was made in. Choosing a single source rather than blending is the only way to keep that intact, and it is why a jar from this season will not taste like the next one.
We name Ontario and we stop there. No region, no supply chain, no counting of sources. One source, one season, never blended, and nothing added to it.
What we do, and what we do not
We do not keep bees and we do not own a farm. We choose the honey, we let it rest, and we hand pack it in small batches. The honey is Grade 1, golden, raw and unpasteurised, never heated beyond its natural state, with nothing added and nothing taken out.
It will go solid in time, and that is the sign it is real. Stand the jar in warm water and it comes back. We sell online only, which keeps the batches small and the honey moving.
